@the_brand_edit: found this hidden gem in East Sussex, UK today and haven’t stopped thinking about it since. Located by Lewes, this short chalk stream is surrounded by paths the lead to tons of fields & public bridleways….perfect for a walk and yes…I couldn’t resist dipping my toes in even though it was freezing! 🤎💫 #sussex #chalk #streams #nature #hiddengems
I wish these beautiful streams were better protected😩 I really hope they do better in government to keep them safe!

Vote Green to protect wildlife like this. Private water companies pump millions of tonnes of sewage into our rivers and lakes every year polluting them and making them uninhabitable and unsafe. If you truly cared for our country you’d vote green

Little known fact that Britain has around 80% of the world’s chalk streams. Most of which can be find in the South as tributaries of the Thames, Itchen, and Test. Makes for some of the most beautiful scenery.

Winterbourne runs for miles, but I’m not exactly sure where the best place to park to get to this bit is. I only live 10 minutes away but too far to walk!

Has this dried up yet for the “summer months”? Thinking of visiting this week but I don’t want to get all the way there if it has!

I can't hear the A27, so where is this relatively quiet, secluded section?

Water courses in deciduous woodland usually get affected by leaf fall. Seems the flow is sufficient to carry leaves and debris downstream - which is expected in in hilly areas like Devon, Derbyshire, Wales etc - but not Sussex.
