Co-streaming suddenly become a problem as soon as they gained more viewers than the official broadcast, and instead of this being an alarm call for the broadcasters that the formula they have been doing for years without significant change it’s starting to fail and they should go back to the drawing board to innovate, they start punishing the co-streamers for giving audiences what they want.

Terrible change imo. There's a reason people watch co-streams instead of the official broadcast. Forcing someone to sit through every single minute of a 6-8 hour event is crazy. Truth be told, most people don't care about the interviews and filler between games. Esports are already struggling, costreaming brought people back but this is just another nail in the coffin. I'm pretty sure this is driven by advertising, otherwise this makes zero sense.

I will never understand people that prefer costreams to the main broadcast anyway

Not to be rude, but sometimes interviews and other stuff is just cringe to watch.

it’s an interesting case because i get the business perspective, but at the same time if not for Caedrel I wouldn’t have even watched worlds let alone the regular season

I understand it for sure but I feel like it should also be acknowledged by production that maybe if costreamers and majority of viewers stop watching before, between and after the games that maybe that additional content doesnt reflect what people want to see. Idk if forcing it on costreamers will change anything about that issue but I also have no suggestion that is better so best of luck either way

esports needing to establish rules to preserve classic broadcasting... wrong timeline 😅 💯 agree

Ah yes let’s force costreamers to stream a way they don’t do and probably don’t like cuz we are to lazy to find entertaining casters or pay them enough. Not a hate to current casters but I would rather have caedrel predict the whole draft with meta reasons than to see the caster “shocked” when certain player picks anything. FOR ME the interviews are boring, the post match analysis is shallow compared to caedrel, and also leave the stream when the match ends. It’s pointless to force your co-streamers to stream a way they didn’t get famous for

This is why I love how KOI does the co streams, they watch everything, translate the interviews, have spanish cast and also have insight or news about the teams that week, nice video queen love the content.

i don't even like co-streaming in cs, but let's not pretend this change isn't only for ads. companies don't give a shit about talent and broadcasters

this is a very reasonable decision imo, the big costreamers are making insane bank from this, the least they could do is respect the broadcast that gives them the product, and respect the work that you all put into it.

Every sport, esports or traditional, has a big viewership drop outside of any action/games, costreamers bridged that gap between games, in a way far more people enjoy/want to watch.
I feel like simply forcing the costreamers to watch along during that part, is a wrong way to handle it, instead of maybe changing what you broadcast in the downtime between games.

Disagree. Large companies should consider WHY costreams and people like Caedrel have better engagement than the main broadcast and should adapt to them and their style of doing things

I think viewers should decide if they want to watch the interviews or some costreamer doing something else (I choose to watch the official stream). However the costreamers should not get the experience for free! I belive the solution should be that the costreamers have to display all ads connected to the main broadcast even when not showing the stream. Basically this would give the sponsors more adspace, so they would pay the main broadcast the RIGHT amount.

im not even saying it's your fault or the crew's fault but the co-streamers and normal viewers don't watch it because it's boring. I understand you try hard but it seems impossible to make it interesting. I watch the official stream by the way.
