I had a professor who helped us learn pharmacology by studying the families of medicines. For instance, meds ending in “lol” like metoprolol, labetalol, atenolol, etc. are beta blockers. She helped us by having us identify those common families and what they do, picking out the most common side effects, and what is most important to tell the pt about those meds. That is what really helped me in pharm because that class was hard.
