I don't even know how to explain this but let me try....every country has standards and requirements for their food....so if a well known product is made is jamaica and the demand is needed in the US that jamaican company will have to tell them everything that is in the product before it can be placed on the US market to ensure it is up to their standard or above. So they may even prepare and can it within the US but it is a jamaican product... for example you'll see some items say "only for export" this means that it may have something additional or a change in the preparation that is specific to THAT country but it is STILL a product of jamaica or that brand. Different countries have different rules for their food. Another example remember when the chicken washed up ashore and the government said not to eat it because it said export ro belize or something like that, some other country? It is because that product may have additional hormones that belize government accept and agree to but Jamaican government does not or vice versa hence they said it is not safe because we cannot determine what is in there. It mah look the same but it is not....hope me explain good.
