@shinanova: I’m learning the basics of Inuktitut and felt ashamed BUT how else are we gonna learn? This is your sign to learn your native language no matter how hard it is. Even if you you’re just starting, even if you make mistakes!!! You’ve got this!!!!👏🏼
It’s so important to keep indigenous languages alive! What language is this?

it's crazy how many inuktitut dialects we have from different regions yet most of our songs are the same 🥰

I'm doing something similar! I'm half Arab but never knew my Arab family and now at 32 I'm finally learning Arabic to try and feel closer to my Arab side.
Wishing you all the best in your language learning journey 🥰

i'm Brazilian and idk if I have any indigenous blood or not, but for many years the most spoken language here was ancient Tupi, and it's in everything: animal names, food names, places and even our beliefs, so I'm learning it (even tho it's not spoken anymore 💔)

I have 3 native languages and know none of them (immigrant). Russian, Georgian, and Yiddish. Yiddish is by far the easiest. I hope to learn it. I’m fluent in German, so that should help me. Best of luck to you! 🥰

nothing to be ashamed of, I lived in Iqaluit Nunavut for a few years and even my friends who grew up there were learning the basics with me in middle school class. it's amazing to work to keep the language alive

I'ts so hard to find my family's origin language (not indigenous) since it's so small language and almost wiped out. We had our own lands and history before having to evacuate from war.
