I hate how quickly avatar’s timeline has entered a more modern world. I feel it’s so consistent from the beginning to Aang’s time and as soon as they introduced Korras timeline the tech just got ridiculous.

Tbh the symbols evolving overtime and then the last one not being tattooed is realistic and kind of sad because new generations like to simplify things. If I complimented correctly. Like the symbol overtime hasn’t exactly lost its meaning but has changed it.

This checks out. Reminds me a lot of real life. We have gotten so far away from our own cultures that instead of wearing what our parents, or even grandparents wore, we have it stitched onto our jackets and linens as symbols of a by gone era, of a culture that we think we are close to but are so far away from.
