When I got acrylics and had more frequent need of a pulse ox I just had the nail tech do a clear nail with a design only on the tip. It worked

I’ve been an operating room nurse for over a decade and we’ve never told people to not wear polish. Dark polish isn’t ideal because the pulse ox can’t read through it but that color is fine. We can also put it on sideways with polish and it works fine

I have super long nails and when I had my 🍒 done I woke up with the pulse ox on my earlobe 😛

you absolutely can just shy away from dark colors! a pulse ox not only goes on your finger, it can be toes, ear and even your nose! sincerely someone who works in the OR!

I just had surgery five weeks ago and was able to have gel x no problem! Confirmed it with my surgeon and the surgery center. I was worried that was going to be me too but I was pleasantly surprised.

it's so weird that certain operating rooms still have this rule. there's a monitor for the ear lobe.

A nurse once told me they can also use ur toes for the ox thingy, my last 3 surgeries they asked me if I had one nail free (I have biab) I told them no sorry but I know u can use my toes so no need to remove a nail and they just put it on my big toe 😂😂
