Elvanse works great for me but u have to drink a lot of water and eat a lot of protein during the day to prevent crashing out when it wears off💗 and take magnesium at night to be able to sleep

Im on the exact same as you and have been for a year now. So dont worry because i never feel different, however i do notice small differences, for example, when i am studying i am more focussed and less impulsive day to day

It’s a super low dose! I am on the same one and it helped once we got my dosage right!

I started with that medication/dose as well! Day 1 felt nothing, day 2 felt AMAZING, then as the days went on the feeling gradually tapered as my brain got used to it. I ended up increasing dosage twice over the course of 2 months before determining that I needed to try a different medication due to some physical side effects. Finding psych meds that work best for your brain and body can be so exhausting (especially when diagnosed as an adult), but you’re not alone!

I’m on 15 mg of methylphenidate right now but possibly changing to a new type as it hasn’t really done a lot to help me personally but I think it’s just a lot of trial and error until you find what’s best for you, hopefully you find what’s best for you soon! 💗

Same meds… I’ve tried a few… but this one works best for me (branded Medikenet XL) I do 20 in the morning and if required a 10 top up around 3pm. The difference between 10 and 20 hopefully you feel xx

for me personally methylphenidate made my anxiety and overall mental health much worse, where as lisdexamfetamine (think it’s vyvanse in the US!) works wonders. they’ll titrate the dosage and get it right for you in the end!🫶🏻

One of the rare things about ADHD meds is that it’s also diagnostic. If the Meds work for you then it’s predictive of ADHD as a diagnosis. If they don’t work then it makes ADHD as a diagnosis less likely

I started at 18 and felt a difference straight away! Speak with your prescriber to up it… also make sure you have higher protein breakfast and eat protein through the day it helps with the dopamine!! I’m in 72mg now after 5 weeks… Good luck🥰

You are probably just trying to see how your body reacts first and then you try higher after some time

Personally I didn’t get on with methylphenidate, had way more negatives than positives. I find lisdexamfetamine far more helpful, even on the first day of the first dose it was like night and day 😂 if you find after you’ve been titrated a few weeks on methylphenidate that it’s not helping you definitely request to try lisdex!! Everyone reacts differently and what works for one person won’t for another, it’s a lot of trial and error in the beginning ❤️

I’m on Adderall 15mg immediate release then another dose of it a few hours later. It truly helps me so much. My daughter is on Concerta 54mg which is methylphenidate XR. It has helped her tremendously with horseback riding and being able to focus on jumps. Adderall gave her more anxiety and my son is on Vyvanse which has done wonders. I highly recommend you look into GeneSight testing. It will tell you which medication your body will metabolize the right way! Adderall has been life changing for me. I’m diagnosed at 45 years old.

Girl it should’ve kicked in within like 30 mins to an hour. I would up my dosage or consider other medication like elvance or concerta
