Best way to explain it is general sonography is you have to know a little bit about a lot of stuff and cardiac sonography you have to learn a lot about one organ. Its an easy and hard job at the same time as in its easy do but hard to do at a high level. Its fun though and depending on personality you can need out on it. Google these abbreviation with the word echo after for a great source of guidelines and education: ASE, ACC, BSE, EACVI, and ESANZ.
