maybe a silly question but are there any breeds that are good for beginners in terms of being friendly but actually don’t mix well? ex: we really want to get buff orphintons, golden comets, rhode island reds, and possibly easter eggers and want to make sure they all get along well. also is it okay to get 1 of each breed or should there be a minimum on each breed we get ? :)

My barred rock is -not- quiet or gentle lol. She’s sweet, curious, and bold, but will talk loudly to you, and will “preen” your hair by pulling it roughly lol

Don’t forget about australorps! My lorps are far friendlier than my barred rocks and aren’t nearly as bossy.

My salmon is a sweet heart and is a class clown, she does like to fight though😂! My Brahmas are sweet girls and want no problems with anyone

Salmon faves are my favorite. Such sweet chickens. I have a breeding pen. My boy is the sweetest even with kids running past. I will say due to their docile nature other chickens will sometimes bully them. I keep an all salmon flock because of it.
