Yet WWE is so money hungry that they refuse to let anything run its course and they give the main event of mania to the same people. AEW builds their stars and lets the ones who put the most work in to be main eventers and that’s what’s going to make AEW eventually surpass WWE, because the fans will be invested with the work being done from the workers who were in the main event scene. All In this year is either going to be MJF/Ospreay or Kenny Omega/Will Ospreay.

what was wrestlemanias memorable match last year? its true what aj and others have said, its lost its mystique. all in hangman vs moxley was very memorable and we will remember it decades from now.. aew now feels like wwf wwe post 2005..

Just did some quick math. There are more Wrestlemania main event matches than there are actual wrestlers who COMPETED in said matches, and that’s honestly sad. It’s understandable that some wrestlers, even a lot of wrestlers will have more than one main event match at the show. But the fact that this year will be the 48th and 49th Wrestlemania main event matches, and there are only 46 wrestlers who have competed in the main event just bewilders me. Standard match is one on one, you meaning the most amount of wrestlers you could have main event if every main event were one on one would be double, so 98 wrestlers. Keep in mind there have been tag team main events, triple threats, a fatal four way, so the number should be even higher than that. 98 unique wrestlers to cover every single main event at a minimum of one on one matches, you would think there would be anywhere between 49 and 98 wrestlers who have main evented Wrestlemania but there’s LESS. Because Hulk Hogan needed to main event nearly every Wrestlemania the first ten years, and Roman Reigns needs to main event 11 (probably a few more as well in the next few years). Because this generation grew up watching TNA, ROH, PWG, NJPW and DDT as much as WWE. It’s the same way not all actors want to be in a Marvel film. A lot want to do Broadway, Art house, or something Oscar-worthy. You can’t pretend to understand what motivates an athlete or artist, especially when they can make plenty of money doing what they’re actually passionate about.

Id say simply put main eventing ALL IN mean ls your probably the best or one of the best wrestlers on the planet but main eventing Wrestlemania means your the most popular or a bigger draw(for the most part). Both are rewarding in their own way and both are very important.

Agree with you. One minor correction, Angle's 1 WM Main Event was 19 against, big shocker, Brock Lesnar. Ironically, Lesnar would leave a year later and be gone for 8 years, foreshadowing his eventual role of showing up every few months and then vanishing again.

Ye that’s fair enough it’s just everyone say mania cause it’s the more prestigious event and I do think all in and aew as a whole is main evented there show nit always (case and point revolution 2025)

very very true... if you truly think about theres alot of talent on WWE that their own fans will say dont got enough "star power" that should've been main event or even could main event. but its not about money which is fine but the money aspect overshine the passion and joy that wwe could give their audience. they got freaking jellyroll and pat involved with the main event like.....

I would say the arguement is not really fair, there has come a time where names like r truth were one of the most profitable names for wwe, main eventing a big ppv in my opinion always comes down to star power same goes for aew. But its definetly more accurate to who actually deserves a main event spot in the elite

Bro you quite literally proved that main eventing Mania means so much more. Why because NOT EVERYONE GETS TO DO IT. You'd have to be good to excellent in the ring, great at telling a story, a draw and a money making machine. Ya'll make the mistake of thinking that you'd have to be a part timer or nepo baby in order to achieve that. Especially with the amount of talent (both part time and full time). Getting the greenlit that you're main eventing over part timers and some of the other most talented wrestlers is far better imo. For example look at Becky Lynch, She main evented mania which had Brock, Rollins, Reigns, HHH, Batista, Angle, Bryan and Kofi. That's no hate to ALL IN but ALL IN is just another aew ppv🤷🏼♂️To me, All in still doesn't feel like the biggest Aew ppv yet.

That’s how it works. The biggest draws are the top guys. Wrestling is a business and the only thing that matters if you’re a draw. AEW has changed that it’s a mark company for marks, run by marks. AEW has hit their ceiling with how big they’ll get because they’re not running a business it’s a club.
