if is conditional, not accepting possibility. your context is wrong, its like me saying even if i am the last man in the world, there is no world where i will be the last man. so it doesn't contradict, they just made a conditional statement to show the extent of their faithfulness not to show doubt

Samuel Okanlawon :
Good afternoon my brother. I have followed you for some time now. You are doing an assignment that is rare and not popular, but it's impactful. God grace will continue to increase you.
But your interpretation here is not correct. The word "if" is use to express a condition and make a conditional statement. And linguistically, "if" statement refers to a previous statement. So, the "if not" refers to their expression before: God's ability and expressed capacity to save them. The "if" is even strengthened by "but". The 3 Hebrew men expressed faith in the capacity of God to save them. Then, their faith in God remains the same if His divine preservation doesn't come through for them in this situation. It was not a doubt in God but an affirmation of their eternal trust in the person and character of God.
What's wrong in expressing an unwavering allegiance in God in the face of adversity? Check through church history and the passage on the heroes of faith (Hebrews 11), God didn't come through for His people in every circumstances. We trust God to save us in threatening situations that challenge our faith in Him through Christ. We serve God with expectations and even without expectations.
So, your interpretation here partially disrupts the contextual exegesis of the text in reference.
God bless you and continue to strengthen you. Shalom!

They were never in doubt about God's ability to save them, they were only stating that even though he can it is still dependent on his will to save.

All of the gymnastics does not change the fact that the boys were resolute. I frankly don’t see the need for all the interpretation somersault

I have tried to look at it from your point. it's still contradictory. That text is as simple as it is. if God doesn't show up we will still not serve your king. That doesn't mean God failed. They are just saying they will rather die as martyrs.

you are not correctly on this matter. Stephen was allowed to be killed.
what the 3 hebrew men said was not doubt but trust in God's sovereignty

you are usually right in most of your videos..but you are definitely wrong in this matter. all through the bible, including among the apostles, we see people expressing confidence in God's ability to come to their aid, but standing resolute even if he chooses not to. the words of the 3 Hebrew boys were not expressing doubt in God, but showing the king that they stand resolute in their decision being aware that they serve an able God, but also knowing that he may choose not to save them even if he could and irrespective, they will not compromise. Don't also forget the passage that says that God will show mercy on whom he chooses. In the end, God decides and the earlier we are at peace with this, the better for us all.

Masa, 'that if not' is clear, the boys said even if God does not save them, they wont bow to the king. Remember the scripture if we live we live for God and even if we die we die for God. God saving someone, solely depends on Gods will. Again remember how the Apostles die and also remember how the prophets before the coming of Jesus died.
