Oh wow. Had no idea rhabdo was THAT rare! I had that years ago. Intense pain all over and coffee brown pee. Went away immediately when DC statin. With calcium score of 0 I kept getting passed along with nothing. Finally got Zetia and now waiting for authorization for Repatha. Late in the game now but better late than never I suppose?

Thank you for your informative videos. I used to fear statins but you've helped ease that fear. I take Rosuvastatin 30 mg plus Ezetimibe 10 mg and my LDL is moving toward 50 down from 125.

Love your videos Dr - very insightful. I’ve recently had a Double Bypass, I’m 50 years old, I’m on statins, and yes I get achey muscles in my legs, but hey, I’ll take that over more heart attacks and surgery anyday ❤️

What are the lipids/apob/ldlp levels you target? I assume they are “better” that the published acceptable ranges and if one is in the high end of normal range you’d still suggest targeting the lower value

When I was around 40, here in France, I was diagnosed with high cholesterol… The results showed that my left carotid artery was 30% blocked (nothing too serious)… I’ve been on statins ever since. Twenty-five years later, I had the same test done again… The plaque hadn’t moved… I conclude that the statins saved my life, and I’m still grateful to the doctor who prescribed this treatment for me back then.

Great! At 71 and genetic high cholesterol I’m finally taking zetia and repatha, I hope it’s not too late! My cardiologist assured me old people still have benefits. No issues!
