@rechargedcoaching: Nothing screams “I train for attention” more than this… You control the weight perfectly for 10 reps… Then the last rep suddenly turns into a full on drop test like you’ve just lifted a car. Banging plates. Letting it crash. Looking around to see who noticed. Relax. You didn’t get stronger in the last 2 seconds… you just lost control. If you can lift it… you can lower it. That last rep doesn’t need to be dramatic. It just exposes your ego and have some respect for the equipment while you’re at it. No one’s impressed. It’s just loud, unnecessary, and makes you look like a dick. Train properly. Not like you’re auditioning for attention. #gymetiquette #gymfails #fitnesshumour
are people supposed to only train to mild discomfort theses days......

if training to complete failure then the last rel will be dropped.... if you can control your last rep you haven't finished your set

People who do it are literally throwing away 50% of the lift. The controlled down is actually more beneficial than the up.

So just to be clear, the advice is to leave some reps in the tank just to make sure you look co?

hey man i agree but sometimes it just happens,10-12 reps isnt optimal, doing 6-8 reps and reaching failure withing that range is much more optimal for hypothrophy, plus dropping the weight might sometimes happens

Take me back to the days where gyms had no music just raw weights clashing and no one cried about it

If the weight gets heavy on the last few reps and your muscles are giving in because your training to your max. Then drop the weight down because at the end of the day not injuring yourself but making a bit of noise doesn’t make you a knob. The people making fun of you for it are.

This makes me even more paranoid about going to the gym bc I did this the other day on embarrassingly light weights (I DIDNT MEAN TO) bc I was 99% sure I was about to have a fainting episode and panicked and I’m so scared the rest of the gym was thinking how pathetic omg
