@sannya.ed: January 28, 1986, 11:39 AM. The space shuttle Challenger lifts off — millions are watching the launch live. On board are seven astronauts, including Christa McAuliffe, the first teacher in space. Everything falls apart at second 59: due to the freezing cold, the O‑ring seal of the booster cracks, and a jet of flame bursts out. The flight controller issues the last command: “Challenger, go at throttle up.” At second 73.124 — a hellish explosion. A fireball devours the shuttle at an altitude of 14 km. Under 20 g of force, the shuttle is torn to pieces. The solid rocket boosters lurch across the sky until they are destroyed remotely. The pressurized crew cabin climbs to 20 km — and then begins to fall. Three astronauts are still alive: they activate their personal air supply units. But if the cabin has depressurized, consciousness fades in seconds… Three minutes of falling — and impact with the water at 333 km/h. The g‑force: 200 g. Not a single chance of survival. A catastrophe witnessed by everyone. The price of the mistake: seven lives, frozen forever in humanity’s memory.#space #ChallengerDisaster #NASA
