Justinian was one of the worst emperors, he bankrupted the empire with constant wars, his only asset was that he 'knew how to find the right people in the right positions'

Justinian would certainly have succeeded in restoring the empire to all its splendor if the fateful year 536 had not come and its devastating consequences for all of civilized Europe.

There is no such a thing as Byzantine empire. It was Roman Empire. That’s a later term invented in the west.

As always everything Greek is always met with envy. But history can not be changed. The empire would still be alive and well today if it wasn’t for the crusade against it. Again envy. It weakened the empire so much it didnt recover. Opening the way for the ottomans wich came with 150.000 man against 5000 Greeks and 2500 italian defenders. Again envy from the rest of Europe not doing anything to help

we also could say Leo for stopping the Muslim expansion at 717, or Basil, or John Tsimiskis for stopping the Russians leading to their becoming Christians and many more

I mean it’s such dishonest ignorant saying Europe knew Plato from Byzantine’s. Where in reality Arabs preserved the Greeks. And that’s also why Arabs had Latin names in Europe.

You can thank also Khan Tervel from Bulgaria to stop the Arabs and help Konstantinopel, the entire Balkan region tried to help Konstantinopel against the Ottoman but the Westerners weakened us before that
