@mountaininthemist: Going through all the work of tanning a hide and having it turn out stiff is so disappointing. 😵‍💫 Be sure to take your time on these three steps:😁 1. Fleshing- try to get as much flesh off as you can! 2. Use high quality tanning oil. I love Trubond and have tanned close to 400 hides using it. 3. Breaking- this is critical! I'm curious as to why you flesh after neutralizing? normally fleshing takes place before you pickle or during the pickle process.
