really easy. u collect lots of organic matter. leaves, food scraps, woodchips. it will naturally break down & bld soil. u can boost that by sprinkling chicken crap on top or fill a bucket with warm water & add chicken crap & sit over night & water with that or combine with this next step. make charcoal. the ashes can be spread of the organic matter u are using as mulch to bld the soil. now crush the charcoal & soak it in the chicken crap again at least overnight. if no chicken crap take veggie scraps & let them rot in the water that's holding the crushed charcoal. this one u must do until it starts to stink. then drain the water off & spread that charcoal ontop of that mulch. when the season is over u keep repeating these processes. any broken pots u may have that aren't glazed can be broken down to smaller sizes & sprinkled on top. they will hold water just like the charcoal & organic matter. I believe this is how they made terra preta. the organic matter alone as a thick mulch layer applied annually does wonders alone but combined with these other steps is amazing

The secret ingredient is not using monoculture systems like we do that caused the dust bowl that we still haven't fully reversed the effects of. The solution is using a variety of crops and crop rotation.
