they could put there time and effort into do anything else better yet there making tiny mf gear trains

Haydan Daly :
so if light can drive these small gears and stuff, is it theoretically possible to have light then power normal sized machines? (assuming you have enough of these small ones to do so)

wait a moment it is a known fact that light is massless this it can travel at the speed of light but for it to be able to have an affect on objects it means that there is a force acting and the formula for a force is F=ma (mass times acceleration) and the force isn't 0 so that means it has a mass so it either cant actually travel at the speed of light or it can but light speed isn't the speed limit of out universe due to the reason that something with proven mass can travel at that speed so theoretically something can be faster . if I made a mistake feel free to point it out for me

photons dont have mass, but they carry energy, so they can move things theoretically

Okay so doesn't that mean that light has mass? If so, that means that there could potentially be something (some kind of matter) faster than light? Idk can someone explain how that's possible ? (I've rewatched the tt a few times and still don't understand)

Why can’t they do this at a larger scale to drive a dynamo and have solar panels without the expensive rare earths and chemicals?

john smith :
light doesn't have mass but enough photons can push things thats why solar sails work in space
