@noahgoinscomics: #willeisner Incredible Medium Evolving artist in every way. I couldn’t possibly get to the nitty gritty of all that Eisner did for comics, from the scope of his writing to all out experimental artistry. But I sure gave it my all… I would also like to briefly mention I am fully aware of the racist stereotypes invoked in the Spirit’s side character Ebony White. It’s a shame and unfortunate that these images were ever created. However I saw a breakdown that explained why his character was always crying, as Eisner artistically reflected the harsh realities that faced marginalized groups, opposed to using the images as a demeaning tool. This is reflected even later with a contract with God. The spirit alone shows the capabilities of comics way ahead of its time, and I could dive in even further.
