you can do whatever you want, but this is a ridiculous stipulation and people will complain about it to you and behind your back. it will be the thing they will say about your wedding. if you dont care, do it. also the comment that said "no floor length dresses" or "no formal dresses, casual only" is a very reasonable compromise.
