@classicdriver: Taking the rotary engine IMSA protoype to the ryokan for dinner The 1992 Mazda RX-792P was an IMSA GTP sports prototype powered by a 690-hp, 2.6L R26B 4-rotor engine, designed for American endurance racing. Despite its high-revving engine and advanced aerodynamics, the car was hampered by severe heat management issues, and budget constraints, leading to its early retirement. Only three units were built. This weekend, it is one of the star cars at the Concorso d’Eleganza Japan in the ancient imperial city of Nara.
