I feel alone and then I drink, and then I am more alone. I mask, I laugh, but none of it is me. It's what they want of me. I can play the part. But when it comes to love, and I open up, I always learn. They loved the idea of me and not me.

It’s a heavy and quiet realization to wake up to, the feeling that as my world narrows and the circle around me grows smaller, the silence only seems to get louder. There is a specific kind of ache that comes with watching the crowd thin out, where each person who drifts away leaves behind a space that no one else quite fills, eventually turning a once-busy life into a series of empty echoes. You start to notice that while the noise of the world hasn't stopped, it feels farther away, like you’re watching a celebration through a thick pane of glass where you can see the movement but can’t hear the music. This shrinking isn't always loud or dramatic; it’s a slow, steady retreat into a space where you are the only one left to answer your own thoughts. The smaller the space becomes, the more the walls seem to move in, until the solitude stops feeling like peace and starts feeling like a permanent weight. It’s a strange paradox to live through—the less there is to manage and the fewer people there are to please, the more overwhelming the emptiness becomes, leaving you to wonder if the world actually got smaller or if you just somehow got lost in the gaps left behind💔.
