We did this technique which is called “lapping” our water blocks and heat sinks for computers in the 99s and 2000s. It works and works well, Bravo’

Fixed a head gasket leak like this once. Mercedes tech manual says not to resurface the heads because they will “flatten upon torquing the head down”. Sure enough it leaked, used some granite and sandpaper and no leaks now

Yo I never thought about laying spray adhesive down. When I do this I just tape the back side of the seam between the sheets and tape the sheets to the glass
