my dog is not bearing weight at all since yesterday morning he might have fell off the bed but i’m not sure but he doesn’t seem to be in any pain if i touch it it doesn’t seem like it’s causing him any pain and when he lays down he seems completely fine even laying on the side that he is limping on and today he started touching it to the floor sometimes but i can still tell he’s not applying pressure

So my dog, is walking regular but when he tried to run fast and catch his paw he stopped and limped back to me, but was able to start walking around normally, right after. What could be the issue?

My extremely scientific diagnostic criteria as a CSR/assistant of 22 years: if somebody tells me on the phone "I let her out in the yard, and she came back not putting any weight on that leg", I'm assuming it's an ACL until proven otherwise.

I took my dog on hike today and she wore a little bit of her paws raw and she started slightly limping but I couldn’t really tell we got home and she let me clean it should I take her to the vet? at first I couldn’t tell if she was limping but she never yelped from pain on the hike I only really started to notice when she would stop in front of me every few minutes but we were on a mountain so I couldn’t carry her

We have been to the vet twice for his limp the first time he was giving no reaction and blood and xray came back ok after a week of meds the limp is still there and when he wakes up that’s when he limps then after a stretch he will put weight on it. I’m so worried):

As a helicopter cat dad who works as a vet receptionist (aka I’ve been gifted intense paranoia from work)….how do you know when a cat acting painful on a leg is a true emergency? When is it okay to wait for the next day visit and when do you run?
