I mean this is a good theory for any other city but NY. There are restaurants here that are not on any tik tok, always making money, years of regulars and new, and no lines or res. Like TONS of them. I’ve lived here my whole life , and I never, including these days, have a problem going out and being spontaneous

clock it!! the best pizza/bagel/coffee in nyc is the one closest to you that takes 5 minutes not the one that made you queue for an hour

This is a hugeeeee issue in Boston. Everything new that opens up is like lab built for social media, impossible to get into, and it usually kinda sucks….AND it just shuts down in a couple years when the hype dies down.

Omg I lived in ny 2012-2018 in my 20s this would have been so annoying we used to just hang out have fun bar hop grab dinner I don’t understand why everything is so crazy now?!!!

I am so glad they talk about how it ruins spontaneity. Whenever I want to have fun I just stumble into places, and thats become increasingly difficult nowadays 😭 but when I do it those are always my best finds

I absolutely refuse to wait in a line more than 5 minutes unless it's a ticketed event or something I absolutely need. I've left my usual coffee shop by my job because the line was too long.

I get what you mean but i feel like it’s mostly just a few hyped/really popular places or fine dining restaurants that are difficult to walk in? I still do walk ins most of the times here
