The problem with these types of philosophy arguments are always the same. It’s some situation that can never exist in reality. You will never have two situations exactly the same in a dynamic universe. Especially true when a human is involved.

The Badge :

This is a great example. However, to be put in jail for most things, it takes a lot. Most first time offenders are usually given probation depending on the crime. After that they’re usually given many more chances to stay out of jail long term. Usually about 10% of people are committing most crimes. If you live a regular life, you’re most likely never going to end up in jail.

Something like this happened just outside of my school. A kid was pulling up to a stop and an older gentleman decided to cross on his bike at the same time. As the kid stopped he was looking at his phone and through the turn he continued to look and it and ended up hitting the guy. The older guy fell off his bike and didn’t make it. The kid came to class right afterwards then left and never showed back up.
