@drnighatarif: Keys in the fridge, words that won’t come, conversations that we can cannot recall- we all have those days…but when it keeps happening, it deserves a second look Knowing the early signs of dementia can literally change the whole prognosis. I covered all this in The Complete Guide to Family Health: The One-Stop Healthcare Guide No Home Should Be Without https://geni.us/tcgtfh
This is me now with long COVID, on top of that Alzheimer’s runs in my family 😭 I can’t even remember the meaning of words sometimes. But guess what no one is treating this, we are just being left! My partner has had to become my carer & manages all things for me. Was hoping it would improve with time but it’s only gotten worse. But when I tell doctors it’s like talking into a void.

But isn’t it important to recognise that some cognitive decline is normal as we age. If we can prevent dementia by seeking GP help because we notice small differences in speed of thought etc then perhaps we should be concerned enough to take action. However if we are being led to worry about dementia when in fact our brains are simply aging normally like the rest of our body and organs then that’s not good for our mental well being surely

My CPN did ACE-111 with me. I scored 15/26 on memory and 7/14 on fluency. He said, oh well. 🙄

I’ve had an MRI (last year) which apparently “was normal for my age”. I’m no better 12 months on and my anxiety is extreme … but I’m 58 and just left! 🤷🏻♀️My mum had early onset Alzheimer’s - dead just turned 75.

How best do we approach a GP about this without being told to try a different dose of HRT, or something similar? I feel that I'm noticing things with myself and there's a 3 generation history of Alzheimer's in my family. I'd like to know so I can plan for my future.
