chess doesn't really train intelligence, it stretches some aspects of pattern recognition but honestly after spending an inordinate amount of time playing chess since elementary, 90% of that game is inborn talent

I don’t think you can alchemize genetic determinism though. You see this on experiments where twins who are raised apart in completely different environments usually turn out to be very similar in iq, behavior, personality, etc.
