I would highly recommend watching the anime before continuing to vol 2, it’s only 12 ep and it rlly helps u to decipher who’s who and also understand some of the earlier fight scenes better

One of the biggest problems i had was the manga was the character designs i couldnt tell them apart even later on ESPECIALLY after changed hairstyles n stuff ARGH
