A former deputy head teacher of a primary school has pleaded guilty to paying & instructing teenagers in India to abus3 younger children. Matthew Smith, 34, from East Dulwich, was arrested by the National Crime Agency in November 2022, after investigators identified that he was sharing abus3 material on the dark web. Smith was online at the time of his arrest, speaking to a teenage boy living in India & asking him to send s3xual images of a younger child, in return for money. He also had dark web sites and forums open on his computer which were dedicated to child SA. He was charged the following day with 5 offences, including causing the s3xual exploitation of a child under 13 & remanded in custody. NCA investigators interrogated chat logs &financial transactions and were able to establish that Smith had paid that same teenager & another also based in India, £65,398 to abus3 children over a 5 year period. Smith was living in Nepal and working at a school for the majority of this time. Prior to this, he spent various periods working in orphanages & NGOs across India between 2007-2014. He moved back to the UK in July 2022 & began working at the primary school in London in September, where he was a deputy head teacher. The chat logs showed that Smith would instruct the young men to perform s3xual acts on boys & would send them images & videos as examples of ones he would like to receive in return. He also gave one of them advice on how befriend children & build their trust with a view to ab*sing them. Officers recovered over 120,000 indecent images of children (IIOC) which Smith had saved on a laptop, SD card & his phone. Smith pleaded guilty to the initial offences in November 2022. He was charged with a further 17 counts, including encouraging the rap3 of a child under 13, causing a child under 13 to engage in s3xual activity & arranging the SA of a child. He appeared at Southwark Crown Court today on June 20th 2023, where he pleaded guilty to the additional charges. A Bronx, New York, triple murd3r suspect is accused of stab*ng his 5-year-old half-brother, whom he was babysitting on Saturday, his father & his father’s girlfriend, even beating the victims with a pot. The arrest of 19-year-old Jayden Rivera came Wednesday, days after the alleged murd3rs of his father, 38-year-old Jonathan Rivera, his father’s girlfriend, 33-year-old Hanoi Peralta & his half-brother, 5-year-old Kayden Rivera, because he has been undergoing psychiatric evaluation at Westchester County Medical Center, where he “made some spontaneous utterings that he did something bad & that he kill3d somebody,” according to NYPD Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny. After the slayings, Rivera allegedly went back to his mother’s home, where he lived, said he had been “hearing voices,” & said that he “thought that Mr. Rivera & Ms. Peralta were going to hurt him,” Kenny said. The suspect’s bloody clothes were allegedly found at his mom’s apartment. The NYPD said that 5-year-old Kayden Rivera was found at the Mott Haven stab*ng scene early Sunday, allegedly “disembow3led” by his half-brother & babysitter. Cops have also said Jonathan Rivera was stabb3d in the chest & Peralta, Kayden’s mother, was stabb3d 15 times after the 2 returned home from a date. In addition, the victims were reportedly b3aten with a pot from the kitchen, denting the pot.
