@j.e.s.s.i.c.a.d.i: 7 “normal” things that are starting to feel like luxuries in the UK right now… Remember when you didn’t have to think twice about these? 1. A weekly takeaway 🍕 Used to be £20… now it’s easily £40+ for a family 2. Spontaneous days out 🎢 A simple day can hit £100+ before you’ve even eaten 3. Booking your hair without checking your bank first 💇♀️ £50–£70 for a cut… colour £100+ 4. Saying yes to every party or club 🎂 Clubs, gifts, extras… it all adds up quickly 5. Last-minute weekends away 🚗 Even a basic UK stay is £300+ before spending money 6. Nails/hair without planning weeks ahead 💅 Gone are the “just book it” days 7. Cinema trips with snacks 🍿 £60–£80 for a couple of hours… easily The truth? Even if you’re “doing okay”… it still feels like there’s nothing left after the basics. I remember that feeling so clearly. Waiting for payday Saying “no” more than I wanted to Feeling guilty for wanting more than just getting by That’s exactly why I started looking for another way… Not another job Not more hours Just something flexible I could do from my phone, around my normal life And honestly… just to have that breathing room again To start saying YES without stressing 🤍 If you’re a UK mum or dad feeling this right now… you’re not alone. If you want to know how I got started as a complete beginner, comment “LEARN” and I’ll send the info ✨
Whereabouts are you? As I don’t pay that much for a takeaway or my hair and I have really long hair and get a full head of highlights, cut, blow dry and style

I make sure I have the money before booking anything or doing anything. It might be me but everything that’s listed is a luxury in my eyes. I won’t do things just to look good for socials. I’ll do it I can afford it. I feel like my son may miss out on some things but my older daughter had far less growing up than him 💜

Last time I had my hair cut was the 23rd June 2023 at 4pm I know this because it was the afternoon before my hubby and I went on our very first and only holiday together the next morning. I hate false nails so eww. last day out we had was last october we took my teen boy to the zoo for his birthday (his choice) we were there while storms Amy hit.. so we've saved a bit?? 😵💫

You can cut your own hair and do your own nails. Some people just spend money on things because other people do. Keeping up with the Jones' has not gone away...

It the hair appointments that stress me out 😱. A full head of highlights have tripled in price. I used to go every 8 weeks now it’s more like every 16 weeks and I am now considering growing my colour out and just having a nice cut every 16 weeks 😔.

Sad to say .. but all of these would be a “considered” purchase for me now .. my bday yesterday and we decided on pizzas from Tesco and a Prosecco rather than going out .. not that we wouldn’t do a day out .. but it would be planned and packed lunch’s and snacks taken with us.. a no for takeaways for us .. we buy the Itsu brand as it’s our fav food and have a movie and “takeaway” at home ..

I have a little tip for some women with short hair, i have a shaggy mullet, I get my hair cut between 8-12 weeks because my hair is incredibly thick and plays havoc with my sensory issues when it gets too long. I go to a barber. So, instead of £30+... mine is £18, I give my barber a £4 because he does an amazing job. He has done my hair exactly how I want it every time without the faff of washing, drying and styling. I'm pretty sure if your local barber takes women as clients, a trim and tidy would cost you a fraction of the price of a hairdresser.

I could do all of them probably apart from a last min uk trip we would have to save a few weeks in advance.
