More importantly than fashion etc, Wahabism (unlike Islam) does not recognise the Labour Theory of Value and like European and American Protestantism (upon which Wahabism and its economics are based) is focused on capital concentration and rentseeking. This is one of the main causes of the fall in living standards in Pakistan from the late 1970s onwards, compared to Libya, Syria and other non-Wahabi Muslim countries of that era. On the other hand, the US has equally systematically destroyed all non-Wahabi Muslim countries since then.

Pakistan is still the same...Earlier people used to wear somewhat modest and traditional clothes but now they have started wearing completely western clothes esp the elite class..Gen Zia ul Haq simply changed the Persian words and replaced them with Arabic words ..and prohibited women from wearing the" saree "which was previously worn by every woman as a traditional dress but is now worn only on special occasions....But it is true that the Zia has spread a lot of wahabism in Pakistan...Earlier people didn't care about each other's religion they just minded their own business but nowadays friendship is also made on the basis of religion and those who don't belong to the majority religion of Pakistan are harassed in schools, colleges, and universities.. unfortunately
