Yup, I have a HYSA for my 6 year old, I just let it sit - I put in money every month and the bank pays “her” $36 (depending on the amount the acct) just for having her money there.

A good tip: Look into life insurances for them and for yourself as well! It all depends on the policy but my son will be able to take money out from his policy by the time he’s 18, enough to at least put a down payment on a car or buy a used car. An easy way to set your kids up financially if you’re no longer here is by getting a life insurance to cover any necessities like your mortgage or any debt.

Girl I started a 529 account for my son at 6 months old and use my child tax credit every year to deposit that to the savings account. You can start at any point as long as you just start 😁

Can someone please explain how to go about this? I really don't know anything. As someone who's parents didn't do this for her I want to do this for my two children. I have a bank account with the Credit Union. A savings/checking, but that's it. Do I have to open a whole separate account for my children, or can I open an account under my bank account?
