get a fuel filter off of a early '60s Cadillac with air conditioning. they have a vapor line to fix your issue. you can plumb it in right at the carburetor fuel inlet.

Not sure how easy it would be to get for this application, but a phenolic spacer would probably help with your vapor lock issues.

put wood around the fuel lines and it'll stop the lines from over heating.
