@sophie.riichards: Replying to @shan | 🍒 ok SO we’re trying doxycycline first to attach the flushing - and then when I have my bloods done and finish this course of antibiotics, we’re then going to assess spiro! I’m still researching peptides too - but yet to find a clinic I trust on this!!
Hey girl!! I’ve been on two rounds of Doxy combined with a benzoyl peroxide topical. They worked great for the 3 month cycle, so hope they work for you too. After my cycles unfortunately it just flared back up. Next step is a full blood panel to try and understand what’s causing my acne! It’s so frustrating after years or back and forth but no better understanding 🥲

I know you already made a decision about medication but have you ever had your gut checked through GI map test? It was a life changing for me, still working with an amazing naturopath

I was on doxy for a year and it worked, but alas it’s come back as soon as I’ve come off. Also I’ve asked for a hormone test SO many times and they’ve all told me they’ll just say ‘pre-menopausal woman’, so I’m saving to go private 🥲

Isotretinoin microdose will likely be the only thing that will clear it up and reduce the inflammation as the antibiotics will probably work short term but it will come back after you stop. You’re already maybe taking NAC but if not it’s also good for histamine/mast cell if it’s histamine induced or partly. No GP will prescribe iso as they don’t know enough about it and can’t prescribe it but they love to churn out antibiotics. sending love and hope it gets better soon X

Histamine is definitely a thing. I have suspected MCAS / Histamine intolerance. High histamine foods break me out, along with eggs. I hope you start seeing results soon lovely - I struggled with my skin for 10 years. So frustrating as the healthier I got my skin pretty much got worse 🩷

Hi Sophie, have you looked into whether you have an MTHFR mutation? It can affect the body’s ability to produce the enzyme needed to break down histamine.

It’s so exhausting. I’m currently on a gut health journey and hoping that helps my acne but when you have lived with it all your life the hope runs dry 🫠🫠🫠

I know you did consult for peptides. Please consider using KPV or even the KLOW stack. I have endo, been using this for 2months now and have seen so much improvement. The antibiotic will just ruin your gut health.

Low dose Doxy really helps with my skin but I had to take a low dose fluconazole alongside with it because it causes thrush so if you’re on it long term it’s worth thinking about xxx
