Before my husband and I got our boy Rafie, I had a Shih Tzu named Cody. He was my very first dog I got when I was in sixth grade. We literally grew up together. He is my son. I raised him, nurtured him, loved him. He was my baby and he passed when I was 23 years old. I would have given my life for him. I had to make the choice to euthanize him too because he was declining rapidly and got to the point where he couldn’t walk, wasn’t eating or drinking, not peeing or having a bowel movement, and started having seizures. I had to make the choice to send him to heaven. And my heart broke so much I didn’t think I could love another again. But we got our boy Rafie (several years later) and I believe my boy Cody sent him. Though Rafie is a dad boy, I love him with all my heart and I just wish he could’ve met his big brother and I could’ve given Cody a better life now. But I know he is watching over us and he is waiting for me and I look forward knowing I will see my baby again. It was hard in the beginning and just know that you did what was best because living in pain is not a life for your Maximus. I am deeply sorry for your loss but just know that in his 5 years of life he got to be loved by you and know true happiness. This is my baby boy and I miss him everyday ( it’s been about 9 years now)❤️

Had a bull terrier for 6 years literally my soul dog loved taking selfies with me was a service dog and sadly came back from a vacation and he was acting weird took him to the vet come to find out he had a heart defect that the vet never saw he had an enlarged liver and fluid floating around and we tried to do everything but he kept collapsing and would just lay down and I would just talk to him and would cry cause I knew he was suffering. We made the decision to put him down one morning and it broke my heart cause he looked at me so happy before and I broke down cause I couldn’t explain to him what was happening and i still cry to this day it’s been 3 years. Worst decision I’ve ever had to make in my life I miss him so much. So I feel every part of this

Girl same I wasn’t a dog person until I met my husband at 19 he had a dog and he became my bestfriend so loyal and loving we had to put him down last month at 14 yrs old I’m not ok I don’t think I will ever be 🥺

Wowwwie this is making me cry so much because I also had to put down my Doberman right after she turned 5 too! It was out of nowhere and so quick. Wow, I’m so sorry you’re going through this, nobody understands this type of love & heartbreak ! 😭😭😭

i’m sorry 🥹 i had to put my soul dog down at the age of 17 a couple weeks ago. it was my biggest heartbreak. same thing she lost all feeling in her hind legs as well. 💔

I am so sorry. I had to euthanize my 12 year old pittie in 2024. Just peeing while sleeping, not eating , no energy same as your boy. I still can’t talk about him without tearing. These are our babies !! I’m glad you have your other dog to comfort you and you comfort her. ❤️❤️
