@theholisticpsychologist: The narcissistic mother is emotionally immature. She struggles to communicate and is hyper-sensitive to criticism. When her child wants to talk about issues, she takes it as a personal attack. What she doesn’t understand is that her daughter wants repair, closeness, and connection. But in order to have that, there has to be accountability and repair. The narcissistic mother will deflect and call her daughter “ungrateful” for having her own thoughts and opinions. To her compliance is love and independence is a threat.
