The outer layer of the embryo, called the trophoblast, is what eventually becomes the placenta. It "invades" the lining of the mother's uterus to establish a blood supply. So, while it is physically attached to the mother and made of cells from the fertilized egg, the biological "command" to build that specific structure comes mostly from the dad's side of the DNA.

the placenta is sold from the hospitals to Big they use it for stem cell research but it goes for big money so why does the family have to pay the hospital when they're getting 50 to 100,000 just for that
