For everyone wondering yes me and my sister are okay! When my dad found out he took full custody of us and we never turned back to look at that situation. My mom is still an active user sadly.. I have been blessed with my little family and a thriving business, life is good<3 Thank you for all the support and well wishes, I hope this relates to someone who lived the same life or is going through it atm, I promise there is a light at the end of the tunnel and it will never define you!

I miss my momma every day but these experiences didn’t leave with her. It’s hard to forgive but making peace with it before the inevitable helps a lot. I learned that the hard way and I hope that helps somebody including you love, life comes from us not at us

Girl as someone who grew up very very very similar although my mom and dad stayed together they lost everything because of drugs, I remember going to the ditch to get water so I could half ass clean it and use it for a bath at 7 years old, I remember everything I ever had as a kid got sold for drug money, I remember all the strangers constantly running in and out the house, often times we went without power and we may have had running water for 3 months, people like us were obviously raised differently and honestly I wouldn’t rather it any other way, sure it would have been nice to not smell like dog piss every time I went anywhere but as we slowly become adults we value everything much more, we see the value of work ethic and many other things, we grew up very quickly but now we see things from a different perspective, sometimes it drives us mad where all we went is to get back at our parents for choosing a drug over us, but sometimes it makes you great, it pushes you till you won’t except nothing but success, it makes you work harder, think smarter and move more accordingly, it may be very very difficult to see it but if you look close enough you can see some value in the way you was raised, I wish you all the best in the short life we are blessed to live

I had an identical childhood. I remember stealing water from a church every night in the dark. use to cut the wood by hand during the summer to stand the winter. holes in the house. disgusting living because we always had 50 or more dogs. drug abuse beyond anything in that house and sketchy people. im systems engineer now and own several new homes. I couldn't be who they were.
