Please realize that some siblings are just not capable of caregiving- their love language simply isn’t and never will be “service to others”. My suggestion is to get them to assist with paperwork, scheduling doc visits, arranging for lawn/home care/shopping. Taxes, finances, burial arrangements, etc. I’m finally on the other side as primary caregiver for my elders. Grateful my sis handled the mundane stuff so I could focus on caregiving. That time was precious in retrospect - I was so blessed.

this was my situation. I tried so hard to be independent only to be pulled back because they needed someone to look after our parents, like my own life didn't matter and I was expected to sacrifice half of it without any financial support

This is my life. No help, no assistance, nothing! I dont have a life of my own. They travel, go shopping, take trips, host parties, celebrate!! Im here doing appointments, checking BP, sorting meds, making meals, doing laundry. If I say my mom is sick or not feeling well or has an upcoming surgery they text and say "keep us posted". I've lost my love for them!

I’ve been through that. I was the only one doing all of the work. In the last week of my mother’s life the whole family was at the hospital. They made all of the decisions in her care & I was pushed out of the way.
