This is often due to a food allergy. Mine had a gluten allergy turns out, and a lot of cat food contains gluten.

cleaned the acne from my cat's chin every single day by massaging it softly with a warm & damp piece of cotton the massage made her sleep every time and the acne went away a few weeks later! vet said its because it was cleaned regularly, 'cause if it's not taken care of it can really hurt their skin (to the point of bleeding) and it needs proper treatment take care of your pets!! don't let small issues become huge risks to their health.

Just comb it out with a flea comb. Comb once a week. It doesn’t hurt them and helps keep it to a minimum along with stainless steel bowls to eat and drink from.
