@christiesdaughter: One of my favorite types of jewelry are the ones I can dissect in detail through art. These are pieces from early Qing dynasty paintings - Yong Zheng’s 12 beauties paintings by a court artist. Hope you enjoy! #chinesejewelry #jewelryhistory #antiquejewelry

Wouldn’t these be depicting court ladies from the Ming Dynasty though? The dress doesn’t look very Qing.

A side note about trading, you can figure out which ports certain countries traded in based their word for tea, if the word is tea, tè, etc. if came from a specific port because of the dialect spoken there, and if its a variation of cha, they traded with the rest of the Chinese ports. It’s a reminder that art, jewelry, trade, language, etc. are all connected (and to answer you question, I’d wear alllllll the pearl earrings, they’re so beautiful)

I literally love all of your videos so much ❤️❤️I’m so facinated with historical Chinese fashion and the actual materials they used. I love the almost 2D yet 3D composition in historical Chinese art, I always am trying to recreate a similar feel in my art.
