Marathon is very easy to pick up if you actually just try. You don’t have to be a sweat. What’s ruined the community is people wanting every game to be instant gratification and ability to easily beat the content.

You forgot the genre this is in , its a Extraction shooter a very niche genre that really isn't meant for causals and dont start by saying arc raiders is an extraction shooter when it really isn't most people dont even play it for the extraction shooter element they play it for the Social experience. Most people in Arc raiders are Hella broke but why do they hop on? cause its fun not cause its an extraction shooter but because of the experience while marathon is a extraction shooter its punishing to loose your stuff , causals might keep a game alive but it doesnt extend the skill ceiling and floor of the game. im sorry to say but just get gud you cant have a game hold your hand forever

You have to understand that Cryo Archive is DESIGNED for the Uber-Chad 3-stacks to play. The other 3 maps are for everyone to enjoy but CA is literally the mothership up in the sky on the 2 ground maps. It shouldn’t be easy. Or even moderately difficult. It should require precision and teamwork regardless of there being other teams or not.

It’s not that marathon players don’t want casuals. They don’t want to turn it into arc raiders. AR was sold as an extraction shooter. At this point it’s turned into a round based looter RPG where there’s a large piece of the playerbase uninterested in shooting at each other and condemn others for doing so. That’s not what extraction shooters are supposed to be and that’s not what marathon players want. If someone wants to casually play marathon, there’s nothing wrong with that but they shouldn’t ask the game to cater to their lack of desire to compete

not every game is gonna cater to you and you gotta accept that. tarkov has thrived for years off a hyper competitive player base, so can marathon. and marathon is already more casual than tarkov. the “git gud” mentality is annoying in a lot of situations, but this isn’t one of them. if you want a more casual extraction shooter arc raiders is literally right there. marathon is not trying to cater to the casual player, its catering to the hardcore competitive player. competitive does not equal numbers, you’re right, but numbers isn’t always indicative of a games success. it’s part of it, but it’s not the whole picture.

Full disagree with you chief. The game is simply not that hard. You are just over estimating how difficult it is because you give up way way way too easily. This is not Elden Ring. Its like a quarter the difficulty of Elden Ring.
