@ctrl.alt.tessa: This video is one of the most vulnerable things I’ve shared for both me and Sakura. What you’re seeing is real life for us right now and a reality for many. The hard moments, the scary moments, the ones that take everything out of me as a mom. mixed with the soft, beautiful moments and giggles in between that remind me she’s still my sweet girl. This was our entire week. A week of trying to manage her pain, trying to understand what she can’t tell us, and trying to keep her as safe as we can while she copes the only way she knows how. In between all of this, I was still trying to do school, show up and be there for Yuna bug, and honestly just trying to hold onto my sanity. Some days we are full of laughter and cuddles, and then some weeks look like this. I’m not an expert. I’m just her mom. This is my first time navigating any of this, and I’m learning as I go every single day. I’m figuring it out in real time, doing the best I can with what I have, and loving her through all of it. If you’re going through this too, just know I see you. You’re not alone in the hard moments, even when it feels like it. 💗 Also to note; this is the most severe her SIB has ever been and we have already got her a safety helmet specialized for this behavior as well as gloves and we are looking at creating her a safety area with padded walls in case she ever gets this severe again. she was also never in her seat unsupervised and not for extended times, just enough so we could help soothe her without her causing severe harm to herself or others . #autism #autistictoddler #SIB #autismawareness #nonverbal
