Often previous owners will have committed “abuses” .ie done things without proper permitting and you can into issues when doing your own renovation 2. You often can’t change anythingggg without a permit, and it can take a year, sometimes more, to get basic things approved 3. Southern Italian contractors are often VERY flaky (it’s like no one wants to work here) which can cause further project delays 🫠 luckily, my husband has a construction company so that’s saved us a lot of time and money! But we still have to hire specialists for things and that takes patience 😇 Bonus: your countryside home will become full of animals during the renovation!
