REPORT: Marco Rubio is eyeing a 2028 presidential run — and may leave the Trump administration to prepare for it. 🇺🇸 Republican insiders in Washington and senior British government officials have told The Independent that Rubio — who serves as both Secretary of State and national security adviser — is considering resigning following Tuesday’s midterm losses, in which Democrats seized control of the House and the Senate. “Rubio will be gone after the midterms,” one Republican source said. “There will be about four or five of them running for the hills.” Rubio is said to be one of as many as five Cabinet members weighing an exit. An ally argued that stepping away is the logical move: Rubio “cannot run while he is still secretary of state,” and being tied to the administration — above all the unpopular Iran war — would only harm his chances. The ally claimed Rubio is currently the favorite for the 2028 nomination, ahead of Vice President JD Vance — though a New York Times/Siena poll last month had Vance leading Rubio 33% to 23% among Republican primary voters. The administration is flatly denying it. The State Department called the report “completely baseless fake news from made-up anonymous ‘sources,’” and White House spokesman Davis Ingle dismissed it as “baseless, false conspiracy theories,” saying President Trump has assembled a united team. Rubio himself said in September: “I have no plans at this time. I’m not a candidate for anything right now. And I’m 100% focused on my job.” Rubio has not announced any plans to leave or to run. This is a developing story. #ChristianDaily #MarcoRubio #2028Election #Trump #WhiteHouse
