@letsjuststartpodcast: Australian governments are asleep at the wheel. Part 2/3 We are in managed decline as a nation, when opportunity is EVERYWHERE to turn it around. They are gaslighting us, and if we don’t have the courage to change direction, it leads to catastrophe. The longer we delay and stay on this fake economy, the more pain of causes. #letsjuststartpodcast #lauraracky #christiancunningham #economy #auspol @Laura Racky @Christian Cunningham
I’m sick of people telling me I should have bought a house when I was younger. I should be able to buy a house at any point in my life when I’m ready and able to afford buying a house. They shouldn’t ever cost $1milion dollars

This is not just an australian problem, its worldwide because capatalism has reached its end point. When we are leasing everything and no one can own anything anymore, no jobs and AI taking whats left.

If we didnt mess with interest rates but we put money into super to take money out of the economy. This would do a few things 1) your money stays your money, 2) when you retire you wont be adding pressure to younger australians by the aged care pension, 3) if you are around 50 and cant pay your mortgage because its huge, you have that super at retiremen

Unpopular and difficult measures don’t get votes and don’t look good. Election cycles mean that political parties can’t see through long term 5/10 year plans to the end.

Fact is a lot of people will never get ahead financially until and if they are lucky to get some decent inheritance from their parents.

The problem we are facing now is our young adults have been brought up believing there is a thing - instant gratification. I want that. Oh, here darling let me get it for you I can afford it. The connection of working for money and saving is fast being lost. We're going too have to work harder, and much longer than ever before before we see tangible results. Let's hope our children and young adults of today will still be willing to put faith in the government of the day to lead us into the future. 😎✌😎

It’s up to individuals to take control of their own economic destiny. Government has very little control over that.

The 5-10 year plan is beyond an election cycle so no government will make the hard decisions as they’ll be voted out, and the next leader will retreat to save themselves. Weak leaders and short term thinking is why we are where we are.
