In a sealed system, air molecules in the lower legs act as a secondary air spring. As the fork compresses, that air pressurizes and ramps up at the end of travel. The AirAnnex adds volume to the lower legs, reducing the pressure exerted on those air molecules — and drastically reducing that end-travel ramp.
