I see a psychologist once a month to help me with post partum rage/nervous system dysregulation and one of the strategies I use in moments of overwhelm is hand cream. Scent is a powerful regulator. It actually does help!

after we had our 2nd, our 2.5 year old started needing us (me 99.9% of the time) to sit next to him while he falls asleep at night, but he gets excited when we are there so it takes him SO long to fall asleep. and I try to appreciate it/I do understand it, but frankly it drives me CRAZY. Its a full lesson on emotional regulation for me.

I found a drop in daycare center we can use after 1yr old, if you can find one or if your husband can do it - at least once a week, take a day or at least 4 hours, for yourself, i always feel guilty, but it does get easier and its worth it for some time to do whatever you want weather thats shopping, a treat, cleaning, its just nice to focus and let your brain rest without the 5340 overwhelming tasks that cant get done because the kiddo is always pulling your attention

It’s hard❣️During my baby phase…I had to check myself into a cheap hotel for a night! I had guilt for this, but I just needed a true break from it all, including the house! I did this twice. It helped a lot. Sending love❣️Hang in there Momma❣️❣️❣️

as a single mum of two , who had absolutely no support, I used to walk. baby in pram and off I'd go. I stopped picking them up everything they cried . instead it was in the pram . great for your own mental health, which u know and sooner or later baby falls asleep.. you are an amazing mum. I've watched your journey from the start. I love the way you parent your baby. 🥰🥰

I started therapy when my son was just over 1 and it was the only thing that helped in terms of being able to vent, learning tools to regulate myself etc. All I can say is it WILL get better!! You can do this ❤️❤️❤️

I’m also a first time mum, the child & family nurse told me that they can get extra clingy when they’re teething, so that could be playing a part xx you’re doing so good, you will feel better soon ❤️

Any break I have from my son I think of it as me recharging so I’m a better mum! I know feeling guilt is so powerful but everyone needs breaks from everyone ! you’re doing amazing 🫶🏻

I’m with you mama. I’ve got an almost 21 month old who is still a “mamas boy”… I can’t do anything. I have bad anxiety and adhd so I struggle with the overstimulation too. Sending strength, it’s not easy and you’re not alone 🩵

Hey Alice! I am not a mother, but I feel this could also happen to me if I am a mother at some point, it would help me to think that nothing is forever, you are very capable and very powerful, big hug 🫂

You’re a FANTASTIC mom - this is completely valid and accurate! We all go through these moments! That’s what they are is moments. You will look back and miss it. It’s hard to see it in the moment - and be kind / patient with yourself! Regulating yourself while also recognizing and healing your own inner child is HARD work

you can make all the changes and do the best you can do for him but the bests thing you can do is to do things for yourself! I know your not much of a makeup girlie but taking the time to do myself with nice hair and clothes, it changes my mindset and I feel alot better about things
